They are more than outrageous.\u00a0 They are more than shortsighted.\u00a0 They make me so mad I could spit.\u00a0 I should burn my AARP card.\u00a0 AARP is selling the older people out as well as their children and their grandchildren.\u00a0 Who do they represent with their outlandish behavior? I don\u2019t know but it is concerning.\u00a0 I think AARP has lost its way.\u00a0 From my own selfish perspective, I wonder what AARP is going to do for me when I have a 23% cut in my social security retirement benefits when I am 83?\u00a0 Nothing I suspect.\u00a0 They will just blame the Congress for not acting.\u00a0 What a lie!\u00a0 They prevented the Congress from acting.\u00a0 Such nonsense.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">AARP spends $174 million lobbying Congress and others each year after earning $1.2 billion in revenues by providing insurance and other products to the public especially the elderly public.\u00a0 Why has the IRS not taken them to task and taxed them on this income?\u00a0 Why, instead, has the IRS devoted their resources to Tea Party groups with no money when this giant goes untaxed and unburdened with appropriate oversight?\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u00a0AARP needs to start being part of the solution to this impending Social Security bankruptcy now rather than being part of the problem.\u00a0 \u00a0Let them publicize the issue, \u00a0present a credible plan, and then work to get it adopted by Congress.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Sam Allen <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Harry, you are being too soft on AARP and their allies.\u00a0 These attacks on Congressmen trying to fix Social Security and save it from bankruptcy are terrible.
